Mrs. Corene Turner Nicholson was born November 17, 1923 in Water Valley, MS to the late Vol Turner and Mary Wilma Campbell. She departed life on Monday, October 8, 2007 at 1:30 am at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was united in holy matrimony to the late James Nicholson, Jr. on December 31, 1948. To this union one son was born.
She was baptized at an early age and became a member of Sanders Chapel. She later became a member of Everdale Missionary Baptist Church by letter and Christian Experience. Mrs. Turner was a retired seamstress.
Visitation will be from 1 until 2:00 PM at Everdale M.B.Church prior to the service. The service for Mrs. Nicholson will be at Everdale M.B. Church at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 11, 2007 with burial at Oakridge Cemetery.
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving son, James Allen Nicholson of Water Valley, MS; one brother, Stacy (Ethel Mae) Turner of Water Valley, MS; and one sister, Ocia Haywood of Detroit, Michigan. Three brothers and six sisters preceded her in death. She also leaves three grandsons, Tony D. Nicholson, Kennon D. Nicholson, and Devin Nicholson; one great grandson, Darrel Hervey; two sisters-in-law, Maron (Marvin) Keys, Mary Catherine (William) Patterson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
