Salem: Marie A. (Halle) Jeffery age 96 of Salem, died Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at her home. She was the wife of the late Raymond J. Jeffery, Sr. with whom she had shared 42 years of marriage.
Born in Canada and raised in Lewiston, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Onesime and Valentine (LaPierre) Halle. Marie moved to Salem, with her family, as a young teen. She married Ray, a founder of Jeffery Brothers of Salem, in 1941 and was totally devoted to him and their six children. Coming from a large family, her social life revolved around her family, her siblings and their families. Marie was a member of Ste. Anne Parish of Salem.
She is survived by 4 daughters: Annette J. Coffey and her husband Michael of Pepperell, Collette M. Frisch of Beverly, Claire R. Nowack and her husband Albert of S. Burlington, VT, Theresa V. Breen and her husband Dennis of Groton, 2 sons: Raymond G. Jeffery, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Lynn, Charles E. Jeffery of Salem, 2 sisters: Mugette McClenaghan and her husband William
of Lancaster, OH, Muriel Chiacchia and her husband Daniel of Nashua, NH, 6 grandchildren: Michelle Coffey, Christine Alward, Cheryl Tadiello, Melissa Clattenburg, Tanya Reynolds and Eric Jeffery. Marie is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 5 brothers: Humbert, Gaston, Gerard, Roger and Leo Halle and a sister, Dolores Douglas.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 9 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, Jefferson Ave., Salem at 10 am. Visiting hours: Friday 4 to 8 pm. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445-9924.
