Obituary

WORCESTER-James P. Quinlivan, Sr., 68, of 9 Green Hill Avenue, died Tuesday, December 24th in UMass-Memorial Healthcare, University Campus. He leaves his wife of 49 years Joan E. (Nugent) Quinlivan, 4 sons;Joseph J., Brian R. and James P. Quinlivan, Jr. all of Worcester and Michael T. Quinlivan of Paxton, 2 brothers; Joseph D. Quinlivan of Rutland and Thomas M. Quinlivan of Worcester, 5 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. A sister Ann M. Fitzgerald of Worcester died in 1997.

He was born in Worcester the son of James S. and Bridget (Sullivan) Quinlivan. He was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School and Worcester Junior College. Mr. Quinlivan had owned and served as president of P’s & Q’s Specialty Services, previously he had been vice-president in charge of manufacturing for L. B. Evans. He was a long time member of St. Paul’s Cathedral, and served as a Deacon there since he was ordained June 10, 1984. Mr. Quinlivan had served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, was an active member of the Frohsinn Club and the Worcester Homing Pigeon Club.

The funeral will be Saturday, December 28th in St. Paul’s Cathedral, 15 Chatham Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, December 27th in St. Paul’s Cathedral, 15 Chatham Street from 5:00 until 9:00 PM. O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
