Robert F. Terrio

TEWKSBURY - Robert F. Terrio Sr., age 77, a former employee of Tewksbury Hospital's farm and a Korean War Veteran, died Tuesday morning, October 2, at the Wingate of Andover Nursing Center following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Louise M. (McKenna) Terrio, who died in 1980.
Mr. Terrio was born in Cambridge on December 26, 1929, a son of the late Leo and Cecelia (Morey) Terrio. He was raised in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge Rindge High School.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was a member of the Tewksbury Post 8164 of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Terrio was also a member of St. William's Parish.
He was described by his family as having been a big fan of Boston's professional sports teams, especially the Red Sox and the Patriots teams. He also enjoyed poker.
He is survived two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert F. Terrio Jr. and his wife Susan (Gallagher) of Tewksbury, and John J. Terrio of Tewksbury; two brothers and a sister-in-law, William and Isabelle Terrio of Manoment, MA and John Edward Terrio of Windham, NH; a brother-in-law, Arthur McKenna of Waltham; three grandsons, Michael, Kevin and Andrew Terrio all of Tewksbury; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also brother-in-law of the late Francis McKenna.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, October 5, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial with Army honors was in Lowell Cemetery. Memorials to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of MA, 495 Old Connecticut Path, Suite 220, Framingham, MA 01701-4567, will be appreciated.
