Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Dorothy I. (Campbell) Thompson, age 91, a resident of Tewksbury for 58 years, died Monday, October 1, 2007 at the Tewksbury Hospital.
She was the widow of Walter R. Thompson, Sr., who died April 28, 1958.
Born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada on February 6, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Emma (Irvin) Campbell.
Mrs. Thompson was raised in Cambridge, MA, attended Cambridge schools and graduated from Cambridge High School.
She resided in Tewksbury since 1949 and was a former member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Emblem Club.
According to her children, she enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
She is survived by six children, Walter R. Thompson, Jr. and his wife Carol of Colorado, Roy C. Thompson and his wife Susan of Tewksbury, Judith A. Burris and her husband William R. “Bill” Burris, Jr. of Tewksbury, Jane D. Barbati and her husband Richard of Ipswich, Robert A. Thompson of Tewksbury and Donald L. Thompson of Lowell; thirteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren.
Mrs. Thompson was the sister of the late Ruth Harrison and mother-in-law of the late Dorothy Thompson
Calling hours Wednesday, October 3rd, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral service Thursday, October 4th, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Tewksbury Hospital Patients Fund, 365 East St., Tewksbury, MA 01876 are suggested.
