Obituary

BEVERLY: Casimir A. “Cas” Knight, 82, died Sunday, September 30, 2007 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was the husband of Carol K. (Bodden) Knight.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 25, 1924, he was the son of the late Paul and Josephine Kuzawski. He had resided on Long Island, New York for several years before moving to Beverly fifty years ago. A. U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II, he served in the Philippines as a machinist on a PT boat before his honorable discharge in February of 1946.
Mr. Knight was employed as an international sales manager and traveled worldwide for the Bixby International Corp. in Newburyport for many years before his retirement in 1987.
His commitment and hard work ethic cannot be overshadowed by his enthusiasm for sports. As a member of the Salem Maple Leafs, his call to fame was pitching a double header and recording a no-hitter in his first game. If Cas was not on the diamond, you could find him on the links. Golf eventually became his passion and he was rewarded with a “hole in one” on the 3rd hole at Beverly Golf and Tennis Club.
In addition to his wife of fifty-nine years, he is survived by a daughter, Kris Murray of Beverly, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kevin and Jane (Henebury) Knight of Beverly, Michael Knight of Dayton, Maine and Stephen and Judy (Theriault) Knight of Beverly, nine grandchildren, Erik Hashem, Nicolle Leitao, Erin, Stephen, Adam, Brittney, Jessica, Ryan and Matthew Knight, a brother, Chester Kuzawski and a sister, Florence Coyne both of Florissant, Missouri and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a daughter, Denise Ann Knight, an infant son, a brother, Edward Kuzawski and a sister, Jeanette Ulmer.
His funeral Mass will celebrated on Friday in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Cabot Street, Beverly at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly from 4 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, c/o Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
