Evelyn L. (Tuten) Meade, 82, of New Bedford died December 24, 2002 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late John A. Meade, and daughter of the late James L. and Bertha (Davis) Tuten.
Mrs. Meade was born in Blackshear, Georgia, and had lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in New Bedford.
Mrs. Meade enjoyed dancing and travel. She was an honorary member of the Pine Hill Acres Card Club.
Survivors include a son, Andrew Meade and his wife Donna, of New Bedford; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Meade of New Bedford; several brothers and sisters including Susan Hammond of Florida and Madeline Stokes of South Carolina; 3 grandchildren, Andrew, Erin and Crystal; and several nieces and nephews.
