Florence Allen, age 84, of Mystic, died early Christmas morning at Mytsic Manor Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Pine City, NY on August 8, 1918 the daughter of Claude and Jessie (Belknap) Reese.
Florence had a special love for Red Cardinals and had a lovely collection of them on her walls. She came to Mystic in May, 2001 to be closer to her family.
Her husband, Lewis Allen died in 1997. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James & Shirley (Edgecomb) Allen of Mystic Ct., and Charles and Pat Allen of Scotsdale, AZ, a sister, Doris; and her grandchildren, Cindy Williams and Terri Shannon of Ct., and Charles Allen of Rochester, NY, 4 great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in Prattsburgh, NY. Donations in her memory may be made to Mystic Manor Patient Recreation Fund, 475 High Street, Mystic CT 06355. The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic is assisting the family
