Mary Ellen (Wronowski) Tyrseck, age 60, of Cove Road, Stonington, died suddenly Christmas Eve Day at her home.
Mary Ellen was born on November 8, 1942 the beloved daughter of Anna (Ponatishen)Wronowski of Montville and the late John Wronowski. Raised in Montville, she attended local schools.
Mrs. Tyrseck assisted in the daily operations of the family businessesincluding Cross Sound Ferry, Nelseco Interstate Navigation, and Thames Shipyard, all of New London.
A lover of music, she was a member of the Goodspeed Opera House. She and her husband enjoyed attending 40-50 operas and musicals each year.
She was the loving wife of Thomas Tyrseck. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Derek S. Tyrseck of New London; a brother, John Peter Wronowski of Oakdale; two sisters, Susan Linda of Montville and Carol Jean Wronowski of Montville; and her brother-in-law, Louis Tyrseck of Oakdale. She was predeceased by her son. Kristian E. Tyrseck who died in 1998, a sister, Patricia Hewitt, and a brother, Paul Wronowski.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Stonington on Saturday at 10am. There is no procession from the funeral home. Following the Mass, the family will greet relatives and friends at the Groton Inn & Suites (Groton Motor Inn).
Burial will be private for the family. There are no visiting hours.
