Obituary

George C. Vilk, 83 of Franklin died September 22 in the Medway Country Manor. He was the husband of Carolyn (Collins) Vilk for the past 54 years.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, December 24, 1923, Mr. Vilk was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and had lived in Cherry Hill, New Jersey for 20 years before moving to Dunedin, Florida and New Port Richey, Florida where he lived for many years before moving to Franklin 4 years ago.
Mr. Vilk had been a medical editor for the W. B. Saunders Publishing Company of Philadelphia for 15 year. He had previously been a proof reader for the Curtis Publishing Company of Philadelphia for 20 years.
During World War II, Mr. Vilk worked in the Philadelphia Naval Ship Yard building Air Craft Carriers.
Mr. Vilk loved to read, play tennis, listen to classical music and attend the opera.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Michelle McMichael and her husband, William of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Kathleen Esrich and her husband, William of Medway.
He is also survived by his sister, Rose Wagner of Yorba Linda, CA and his grandchildren, William, Kaitlin and Shannon Esrich.
He was the brother of the late James Vilk.
His funerals service and burial will be private.
