James Kordis, of Medford, Florida and Cape Cod died Saturday evening at his Medford Home surrounded by his loving family. He was 80.
Born and raised in Greece, the son of the late Christopher and the late Katherine (Moutafis) Kordis, James came to the United States in the 1950’s. An enterprising person by nature, James was an early success in the restaurant business. He owned and operated restaurants in Boston and was a real estate developer on Cape Cod. A devout man, James was active in his church especially at St. Georges on Cape Cod.
He was the beloved husband of Xanthippe “Sandy” (Reghopoulos). He was a devoted father to Christopher Kordis of Quincy, George Kordis of St. Petersburg, FL, Kathy Chiarenza and her husband Tony of Medford. He was a loving grandfather to Michelle, Kevin, James, Jillian, Stephanie, Kristina, Keith, Andrea and Joseph. He was a dear brother to Mariathe Kordis and Popi Perris, both of Greece, Aliki Kafantaris of NY, Steve Kordis of FL, the late George Kordis and Stamatia Makrinos.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Tuesday, 4 thru 8 PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 AM in Dormition of the Virgin Mary, Greek Orthodox Church, 29 Central
Street, Somerville. The family will receive visitors at church one hour before service. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
