Obituary

Joseph A. Tremblay, age 67, died Saturday, Sept. 22 at D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Claire I. (Paquin) Tremblay, with whom he celebrated a 37th wedding anniversary in May.
He was born in Lowell, Feb. 13, 1940, the son of Armand Tremblay of Chelmsford and the late Leola (Fernald) Tremblay. Mr. Tremblay was a lifelong resident of Lowell and was a communicant of the former Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Parish, and more recently with St. Rita Parish. He attended Lowell schools and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
Prior to his illness, Mr. Tremblay was employed as a service manager and technician with John G. MacLellan Oil Co. in Tewksbury for 38 years. In his free time, he enjoyed horse racing, gardening and bingo.
Besides his wife and father, he is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Raymond Adams of Tyngsboro, Denise and Larry Kimball of Pepperell, Robin and Peter Nightingale of Salem, NH, and Danielle and James Johnson of Dracut; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Raeanne Tremblay of Dracut; four sisters, Charlene Helfant of Pepperell, Patricia Stratton and Janet Tremblay, both of Lowell, and Deborah Tremblay of Westford; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Leo and Kyoko Tremblay of Epsom, NH, Omer Tremblay of Lowell, Armand Tremblay, Jr. and Norman and Kathy Tremblay, all of Chelmsford; also 12 grandchildren, Derek, Dan, and Kayli Adams, Justin and Jason Kimball, Joshua and Desirae Tremblay, Edward McCullough, Peter Nightingale, Alyssa, Kendra, and Tori Johnson; 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Barbara Tremblay.

Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, from 4 to 8pm Tuesday. Funeral Wednesday morning with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 o'clock at St. Rita Church. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
