GLOUCESTER: John J. Atkinson, 74, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital.
Born in Gloucester on February 16, 1933, he was the son of the late Grace Atkinson. He has resided in Gloucester for most of his life.
He is survived by a cousin, Barbara Sheehan of Beverly, many second and third cousins, including, Bonita Marshall and George Goodhue both of Gloucester and many dear friends.
His funeral services will be held on Wednesday in the Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. At the family’s request, there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the family, c/o Barbara Sheehan, 470 Cabot St., Beverly. Arrangements are under the direction of the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester.
