Roy Eugene "Gene" Eubanks, 47, of Leesburg, Florida died Sunday, September 16, 2007, in Leesburg, Florida. Graveside funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2007, in Eldorado Baptist Church Cemetery with burial to follow in Eldorado Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 20, 2007, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Eubanks was born on October 25, 1959 in Miami, Florida and was the son of Roy Eubanks and Bessie Lee Hancock Eubanks, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by a younger brother, James Jefferson Eubanks. His family moved to Leesburg, Florida when he was a child, where he lived until moving to Fruitland Park, thus being a life-long resident of Florida. After a tragic accident 25 years ago left him a quadriplegic needing constant care, Gene was cared for by dedicated, caring nurses, especially Linda Jordan, LPN, who is more like family. Linda cared for Gene for 17 years and loved him like he was one of her own.
Gene is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Eubanks of Leesburg, Florida; three loving sisters, Linda Huckeba of Eustis, Florida, Mary Pittman of Fruitland Park, Florida and Joyce Coleman of Acworth; and many loving family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contrbutions be made to Hospice of Lake and Sumter, 12300 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.
