Sister Marion Neenan (formerly known as Sister M. Gerarda), 94, a Sister of Mercy for 75 years, died at Warde Health Center in Windham, N.H., Monday, September 17, 2007, after a brief illness. A native of Revere, Mass., she was the daughter of John and Agnes (Barton) Neenan.
Sister Marion received a B.A. degree in history and an M.A. degree in education from Mt. St. Mary College, Hooksett, N.H. For many years she taught elementary grades in Catholic schools throughout New Hampshire. Sister Marion taught at St. Mary in Dover; St. Patrick in Portsmouth; St. Joseph, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and Mt. St. Mary Day School, all in Manchester; and Sacred Heart in Lebanon.
Family members include two nieces, Mary Nelson and Maryann Steele, and a nephew, Al Neenan.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mercy Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 20. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Bedford, NH
