Obituary

New Bedford – P.A. “Bella” Vaillancourt, 89, of New Bedford died September 13, 2007 at Sacred Heart Home.

Miss Vaillancourt was born in Dartmouth, daughter of the late Edmond and Maria (Dubois) Vaillancourt, and lived most of her life in the town. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, S. Dartmouth. She was employed by the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., New Bedford until her retirement in 1977. She was a driver for area cancer patients, a member of the Union of Prayer, a former member of the Ladies Guild of St. George Church in Westport, and a recipient of the Marian Award.

Survivors include 2 sisters: Flora Richard of S. Dartmouth and Rita Demoranville of Wareham; 3 godchildren: Judith A. Jabotte of New Bedford, Susan Lydon of New Bedford and Barry Southworth of Acushnet; and several nieces & nephews.

She was sister of the late Aldea Southworth, Honore Vaillancourt and Edward Vaillancourt.

Visiting hours on Sunday, September 16, 2007, 3:00-6:00 P.M.

Funeral from the funeral home on Monday, September 17, 2007 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, S. Dartmouth.

Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford.
