Obituary


Manchester– Cecile B. Vigneault, 90, died on September 12, 2007 at Villa Crest Nursing Home following a period of declining health.
Mrs. Vigneault was born in Manchester on October 16, 1916 the daughter of Wilfrid and Aurore (Genest) Brunelle. She attended St. Anthony Elementary and High School and was employed for a few years at the J.F. McElwain Shoe Company. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, and music as a pianist and singer.
On July 17, 1943 she married Wilfred J. Vigneault who was serving in the U.S. Army in WWII. They lived in California for the duration and then moved to his home city of Keene, NH. In 1956 they moved to Manchester.
She was a communicant of St. Theresa Parish for 45 years and lately a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church. At St Theresa she served on various committees and was a member of St Anne Sodality. Mrs. Vigneault directed the weekly Blue Army Prayer Hour and the Parish Prayer line for many years. She was very devoted to saying the Rosary at home and before Mass on Saturday.
In the 1960’s she worked part time at the former Frosty Land Bakery. In 1988 she and her daughter visited Germany and the Shrine of Our Lady of Medjugorji in Yugoslavia. In 1992 she was chosen Cook of the Week by the N.H. Sunday News. Her great delight was daily walks, spending time with her grandchildren and preparing meals for the holidays.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Wilfred Vigneault of Manchester, a daughter Alaine S. Chevalier, of Bradenton FL., a son Gerard T. Vigneault of Webster NH, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; a sister Regina Brunelle of Manchester, a niece, nephew and several cousins.
Services: A calling hour will be Saturday from 10 to 11 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester, with a Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11 am. Encryptment will take place at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum at a later date.
