Damon Weaver, 62, of Fitzgerald, died Sunday, September 9, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 13, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Rev. Steve Hood and Rev. John Townsend officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Weaver was born November 5, 1944, in Irwin County, to the late Elijah D. and Mary V. Dowdy Weaver. He lived in Turner, Ben Hill and Irwin counties most of his life. Mr. Weaver was a welder for Fitzgerald Railcar and was a former employee of Harris Press & Shear in Cordele. He served in the United States Navy and he attended the Church Of The Nazarene in Fitzgerald.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi R. Weaver of Fitzgerald; children and their spouses, Donna W. & Gene Kitchens, Jr., of Cochran, Bill & Dawn Hickman of Fayetteville, TN, Nickie Page of Thomasville, Charlene McMillian of Athens and Tina & Duane Mobley of Fitzgerald; 11 grandchildren, one unborn granchild, and 2 great grandchildren; brother, W.A. Weaver of Cordele; sisters, Carrie Lou Hays of Alma, Frances Jones of Athens and Martha Nell Brooks of Umatilla. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
