Antonio P. Avila, 85, of Hampstead, NH died Saturday at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Antonio was born and educated in Lowell, MA. He had lived in Hampstead for 12 years, previously living in Florida and Salem NH. Antonio served his country during WW II in the US Coast Guard, US Merchant Marine, US Navy and US Army.
Antonio was a Supervisor for J. E. Turner & Sons in North Reading, MA. He was previously employed as a Grounds Keeper at Rockingham Race Track in Salem. Antonio had a strong will and worked hard for everything that he obtained. He enjoyed his work and was a jack of all trades. Antonio was very generous and helped many people. He dearly loved his family and he will be sadly missed.
He was predeceased by his son Dennis Avila and his brother Arthur Avila.

Visitation will be Thursday from 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
A Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10:30 AM at St. Anne’s Church in Hampstead, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
