LOWELL—Edwin Vidito, 82 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Wednesday December 18th, at the Town and Country Nursing Center, in Lowell. He was the husband of the late Lois L. (Shepard) Vidito, who died in 1999.
He was born in Lowell, on March 31, 1920, a son of the late Charles F. and Alice I. (Nelson) Vidito, and was a graduate of the Lowell Public Schools and the Boston Architectural School.
During World War II, Mr. Vidito served in the United States Army in France, England and Germany. Following his schooling, he was employed as an architect by the Arthur Englund Company. He also worked as a Production Manager for the International Equipment Corp., in Brighton for twenty years. Mr. Vidito retired from Yankee Atomic in Westboro, where he was a design engineer.
Mr. Vidito spent his summers in Guilford, NH, at Lakeshore Park and enjoyed spending his free time golfing, bowling and roller skating. He was a member of the Fellowship United Methodist Church, in Lowell.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Deborah and Frank Souza, of Lowell; and Janice and James Souza, of Westport; four grandchildren: Christopher and his wife Karen Souza, of Dudley; Eric Guevin, of Allston; John Souza, of Lowell; and Amanda Guevin, of Westport; two great-grandchildren: Jeffrey and McKaelynn Souza, both of Dudley; a brother: Raymond Vidito, of Enfield, CT; a sister: Anne Stanton, of Wolfboro, NH; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Helen Barris.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 21st, at 12:30 PM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Friends may call from 11 AM until the service.
