John B.Tavares, Age 89 of 221 Wellington St. Passed away in Fall River Sept. 9, 2007. Widower of Eva (Oliver) Tavares. Son of the late Manuel B. & Georgianna (Pereira)Tavares. He was a lifelong Fall River resident . He was a member of St. Michael Church, the American Legion and a WWII USN veteran. He retired from the Commonwealth of MA Highway Department.
He is survived by 2 Sons: John Tavares of Westport & Paul Tavares of Fall River. 3 Granddaughters, 4 great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild & several nieces & nephews. He was the Brother of the late Agnes Medeiros.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Wednesday at 9 A.M.with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 6-8 P.M.
