Obituary

Robert “Chief” Taylor, 74, of Salem died Saturday at Franklin Hospital in Franklin, NH. He had lived in Salem 50 years.

Chief served his country in the US Navy during WW II and retired from the Navy in 1962. He was a talented machinist and mechanic and had a knack for fixing things. Chief enjoyed telling stories, especially sailor stories. He loved his dogs. Chief was a member of the Salem Masonic Lodge.

He was predeceased by his wife Eileen (Carvello) Taylor.

William Taylor& his wife June of Salem, NH

Daughter: Kathleen Taylor of Phoenix, AZ

Grandchildren: Melissa Kaltenberg, Gary Gear, William M. Taylor, Jr., James J. Taylor, Lisa Tittman, Robert J. Taylor and Jennifer L. Elstun

Visitation will be Monday from 11AM – 1 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. A Funeral Service will follow at the Funeral Home at 1PM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
