Manchester– Irene B. (Janelle) Tetu, 87, died September 6, 2007 at the N.H. Veterans Home in Tilton.
She was born in Manchester on September 7, 1919 the daughter of Omer and Odila (Cullerot) Janelle.
She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She was a member of the Catholic War Veterans.
Prior to her retirement she had worked for several banking establishments throughout Manchester, NH Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Manchester, owned and operated Aunt Irene’s Day Care for 4 years.
In her later years she volunteered part time at the V.A. Medical Center in Manchester.
Her most treasured pastime was spending time with family and friends at “The Camp” in Goffstown. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing and skiing.
She was married to Ernest J. Tetu in 1948, who predeceased her in 1987. She was also predeceased by her daughter Marie C. Tetu in 1976.
In Her Life: She leaves her son William B. Tetu, and his wife Eileen of Goffstown, one brother Jerome Janelle, and his wife Claire, of Manchester, one sister Mrs. Robert (Claire) Rivard, of Manchester, a sister in law Geneva Tetu, of Claremont, several nieces and nephews.
Services: Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home 110 Bridge St.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 am in Parish of the Transfiguration. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the NH Veterans Home 139 Winter St. Tilton NH 03276.
