Robert “Robbie” Taylor, 39, of Fitzgerald, died Wednesday, September 5, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 8, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Rev. Robert Hulett officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Taylor was born February 27, 1968, in Hawkinsville, to the late John B. and Frances Myers Taylor. He moved to Fitzgerald in 1992 and was a former resident of Hazlehurst, attending Jeff Davis County Schools. Mr. Taylor was a logger for John O. Cook in Fitzgerald and was a former logger for Raburn Beasley Timber Company in Hazlehurst. He was a hard worker and an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Grantham Taylor of Fitzgerald; step-daughter, Angie Young of Baghdad, AZ; sister, Janet Harrell of Fitzgerald; brothers, Malcolm Lee Taylor of Brunswick and Glenn Taylor of Fitzgerald; grandson, Cole Young of Baghdad, AZ; step-father, Ted Lytle of Fitzgerald. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Taylor.
