Dorothy (Gilliam) Atwater, 92, died at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Saturday, September 1. She was the wife of Charles Atwater, Sr. of 71 years. She was a longtime resident of Wareham before moving to Stoughton 7 years ago. Born in Boston, she was educated in Boston schools. Mrs. Atwater was a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Atwater is survived by her son, Charles Atwater, Jr. of Stoughton and her sister, Margaret Lynch of Holbrook. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 6 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Perkins.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, September 6 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-7 PM. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
