Shirlene Evans, 47, of Irwin County, died Sunday, September 2, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Tuesday, September 4, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with Rev. Wayne McCrimmon officiating. Interment will follow in Big Creek Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Evans was born June 1, 1960 in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Raymond C. and Beulah Mixon Handley. She lived in the community all of her life. Mrs. Evans was a ward clerk at Dorminy Medical Center and a former office manager for Fitzgerald Repair Service. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband, Sam Evans of Irwin County; son. Chris Evans of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Katie Scarlett & Erston Royal of Irwin County; sisters, Darlene Hopson and Blondine Patterson of Irwin County; brothers, Darrell Handley of Nashville and Tim Handley of Fitzgerald.
