Kent of N. Easton Sept. 1, 2007, Leo F. Kent 89 years. Devoted husband of the late Eleanor (Grigas) Kent. Father of Phil Kent and his wife Del of N. Easton and the late Leo Michael Kent. Grandfather of Sean Michael Kent and his wife Kaitlyn of Brookline. Brother of Alice McCarthy and John Kent both of N. Easton, Maurice Kent of Taunton, Mary Twomey of Florida and the late Katherine Carey, Jane Daley and Philip Kent.

Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Wed. at 9 am. Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church at 10 am. Burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Obituary Information

Leo F. Kent 89 years of North Easton died Saturday at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the husband for 62 years of the late Eleanor (Grigas) Kent. Mr. Kent was born in North Easton a son of the late Daniel and Mary (Spillane) Kent. He was a lifelong resident of the town and a graduate of Oliver Ames High School Class of 1935.

During WWII Mr. Kent served in the US Army 28th Infantry, 8th Division in the European Theatre and participated in the Battle of the Bulge and the liberation of a concentration camp.

Mr. Kent retired from the Building Management Department of the Brockton VA Medical Center after 10 years of service. Previously he had been a cook at the Boston School for the Deaf in Randolph and a route salesman for Bond Bread and Cushman Bakery.

He had been very involved in the Easton community and had served on the Easton Housing Authority, the Veterans’ Parade Committee and the Democratic Town Committee. He had been a member of the VFW, PVT George F. Schindler Post 2547 and the American Legion, George S. Shepard Post 7 in Easton.

Mr. Kent loved to garden both vegetables and flowers. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching the Celtics, Boston Braves and the Red Sox. He took pride in the fact that he was alive when the Red Sox won two World Series.
He was a lifelong communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, North Easton.

He is survived by one son Phil Kent and his wife Del of N. Easton and a grandson Sean Michael Kent and his wife Kaitlyn of Brookline. He leaves two brothers and two sisters Alice McCarthy and John Kent both of North Easton, Maurice Kent of Taunton, Mary Twomey of Florida and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Leo Michael Kent and brother of the late Katherine Carey, Jane Daley and Philip Kent.
