Obituary

George J. Rainville, 88, of Stillwater Road, died Sunday, in Hebert’s Nursing Home, Smithfield. He was the husband of Althea E. (Clark) Rainville.

He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Smithfield. Mr. Rainville was a Sheetmetal worker for the former Leon B. Lamb Co. and a custodian for AT Cross in Lincoln. He was the son of the late Peter and Maryanne (Desrosier) Rainville. He was an Army veteran of WW II. He was a communicant and member of the Holy Name Society at St. Michael Church.

He is survived by his children, Elizabeth M. Octeau of Conway, NH, Paula M. Meegan of Smithfield, Peter T. Rainville of Wasilla, AK, Jeannine C. Fortin of Burrillville, Jo-Ann P. Raymond of Coventry and Brendan T Rainville of Plaistow, NH, siblings, Bernadette Smith, Joseph and Gerard Rainville all of Smithfield, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Claudia Morvan, Arthur Rainville, Yvonne Lachapelle, Mary Smith and Rita Evans.

Funeral Thursday at 9am from the *ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St Michael Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston. Visitation Wednesday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to St. Michael Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917.
