Evelyn House Allen, 89, of Omega died Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at Tift Health Care. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2005, in Omega Cemetery. Allen Mullis, Mrs. Allen's nephew, will officate with burial to follow in Omega Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy House, Sonny House, Dennis House, Greg House, Christopher House, Michael House, Dennis House Jr. and Joshua House, all nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 10, 2005, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Allen was born on March 6, 1916 in Cartersville and was the daughter of George E. House, Sr. and Sara Frances Jones House, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Burton Frank Allen, who died on November 29, 1987; two brothers, William House and George Emmett House, Jr.; one sister, Sue House Smith; one niece, Glenda Lee House; and one great nephew, Jessie Dwayne Mullis. She was a homemaker and a member of Omega Baptist Church. Before becoming ill, Mrs. Allen was very active in the church. She worked with the Sunbeams and was a member of the choir and a faithful nursery worker.
Mrs. Allen is survived by one sister-in-law, Eddie Mae House of Omega; and several nieces and nephews.
