TURNER, Helen T. (Dolan), of Winthrop, passed away at the Don Orione Home in East Boston, on May 11, 2007. She was 89. She was the wife of the late Gordon L. Turner, who died suddenly in June 1955. Born in Boston, on Feb. 16, 1918, She was the daughter of the late Peter Dolan and Louise (Thomas) Dolan-Sheerin. Devoted mother of Gordon and his wife Beverly, Eileen Brown and her husband William, Nancy Moynihan and her husband Robert, all of Winthrop, John and his wife Linda of Salem, and the late Gerald L. Turner. Sister of Ann Steele of Bedford, John Dolan, and the late Mary L. “May” Bartlett. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. Winthrop. A Funeral Mass was held in St. John the Evangelist Church on Tues, May 15, 2007, at 12pm. Interment was in Winthrop Cemetery. Graduate of Winthrop High School, class of 1936, and in 1975, retired from Massachusetts General Hospital working as a secretary in the admitting office. Some of her interests included playing Bingo, outings to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casino’s, and was an avid Red Sox fan.
