Lucille Shirah Jackson, 95, of Tifton died Friday, August 17, 2007, at Golden Living Center. Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2007, in Lawrence Cemetery. Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate with burial to follow in Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 18, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Jackson was born on November 5, 1911 in Mitchell County and was the daughter of George Shirah and Martha McCloud Shirah, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Jackson, who died at 52 years of age; two sons; and two grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a member of Brookfield Baptist Church.
Ms. Jackson is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John C. and Jewell Jackson of Albany and Jackie and Anita Jackson of Tifton; one daughter, Mildred Clements Jackson of Brookfield; and six grandchildren, Carol Royer, Gail Benson, Ralph Jackson, Steve Jackson, Randy Jackson and Debbie Jackson McGough.
