William J. Jenkinson, Jr. 79 years died Monday in Naples, Fl. He was born in Brighton and raised in the Savin Hill section of Dorchester. He was the son of the late William J. Jenkinson, Sr. and Margaret (Jordan) Jenkinson. Mr. Jenkinson was a US Navy Seaman First Class receiving the American Area Ribbon and the WW II Victory Medal. Following his tour of duty he remained in the Naval Reserve in the Intelligence Division for many years and achieved a final rank of Lt. Commander. Mr. Jenkinson was a graduate of Boston College with a Bachelors of Science with concentration in Psychology and his Masters of Education. He was a Brockton Public School Teacher and Principal for many years, retiring approximately in 1983. He also started the Old Colony Trade School specializing in test preparation for Masters and Journeyman plumbing license. William was a great reader and passionate about philosophy, loved to listen and play music, especially classical piano; skiing, tennis and golf. What gave him the most enjoyment in life was his children, grandchildren and his teaching career.
