James Harold Yancey, 61, of Brookfield died Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2007, in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Pastor Walter Powell and Rev. Salone Green will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Chett Ray, Brett Ray, Brian Ray, Wayne Franks and Charlie Tolbert will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Yancey was born on September 25, 1945 in Tift County and was the son of Harold Leonard Yancey and Julia Mae Coker Yancey Howell, both deceased. He was the owner of Yancey Fence Company.
Mr. Yancey is survived by his wife, Doris Hale Yancey of Brookfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Y. Yancey Hester and her husband, Dwayne, of Brookfield; and two grandchildren, Samuel Ethan Yancey Hester and Sidney Elijah Yancey Hester, both of Brookfield.
