Obituary

Bridgewater- Edmund J. Tuholski Sr., 88, a lifelong resident of Bridgewater, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at the VA Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of Pauline D. (Dumoracki) Tuholski.

Born Nov. 16, 1918, in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Wallace and Sophie (Kaminski) Tuholski.

Raised and educated in Bridgewater, he graduated from New England Old Reliable Barber School, Class of 1946.

Mr. Tuholski was a staff sergeant in the US Army and served in the European Theatre, Anzio Beach Head Battle, Naples Foggia, Rome Arno, So. France, and Rhineland.

He was a code clerk with the 3rd Infantry Signal Co. and received the Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon with bronze service arrowhead and Distinguished Unit Badge.

Mr. Tuholski co-owned a barber shop, Henry and Edmund’s, in Bridgewater for 51 years.

He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Tuholski enjoyed attending the 3rd Infantry Signal Co. reunions, gardening, cooking, baking and spending time with his dog.

He was the beloved husband of Pauline D. (Dumoracki); beloved father of Margaret A. Pierce of Pulaski, TN, and Edmund J. Jr. of Taunton; beloved grandfather of Benjamin Burgess, Katie M. Pierce and Dana E. Pierce; brother of the late Edward, Walter, Arthur, John, Stephen and Raymond Tuholski and Victoria Komasienski and Ada Smudin.

Funeral from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (RT 18), Bridgewater, Thursday at 8:15 am. Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 9 am. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 pm. Burial in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
