Mario J. Orrigo, 81, died Saturday August 11, at his Arlington residence. He was the beloved husband of Ella M. (Loiodce) Orrigo, with whom he would have celebrated 59 years of marriage on September 4. He was born in New York, New York on January 16, 1926, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Marino) Orrigo. Mario was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army. He was a communicant of St. Eulalia Parish in Winchester. Prior to his retirement Mario was employed by the town of Arlington in the Public Works Department as a carpenter for 29 years. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband and loving father. Surviving him besides his wife are five children, Joseph Orrigo and his wife Karen of Medford, Donna Arone of Arlington, Saleen Giammatteo and her husband William of Gloucester, Melina Ryan and her husband Scott of Wakefield, Rev. Mario J. Orrigo, II, Parochial Vicar of St. Michael Parish, Lowell; a brother Anthony Orrigo of NY,NY; three sisters, Gloria Kottes of Staten Island, NY, Mary Pappas of Astoria, NY, Anna Gibbons of Floral Park, NY; seven grandchildren, Richard and Joseph Arone, Jennifer, Joseph and James Orrigo, Bianca and Tyler Ryan; two great grandchildren, Richard and Kirron Arone; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington Street, Winchester on Wednesday from 3 until 7 PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 Am in St. Eulalia Church, 50 Ridge St. Winchester. Burial in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
