VEGA- Of Chelsea, August 9th, Jose. Devoted son of Arcadia (Vega) of Chelsea and the late Julio Vega. Beloved brother of Nilda Vega, Teresa Vega and Felix Vega all of Chelsea, Maria Elisa Vega of Conneticut, Oscar Vega of Jamaica Plain and Maribel Vega of Chelsea. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Tuesday morning, August 14th at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Rose Church, 601 Broadway, CHELSEA at 9 o'clock. Visiting Hours will be held in the Smith Funeral Home on Monday from 4-7 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Born in Puerto Rico and a longtime Chelsea resident, Jose passed away unexpectedly Thursday at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain shortly after treatment for a kidney disorder he had for many years.
