Jim Kinkennon, age 83 of Water Valley, MS, passed from this life on Monday, August 6, 2007 in the Baptist Memorial Hospital N-MS at Oxford, MS. Jim was a retired mechanic at Big Yank Corp. in Water Valley, MS. He served his country in WW II with the United States Army. Jim served in the South Pacific and Asian Theater during the war. He was a former Alderman for the City of Water Valley, a member of the local VFW, and a member of Mt Liberty Church.
Visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 from 6:00 til 8:00 PM. Services will be Wednesday, August 8, 2007 in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Rev. R. W. Moffett and Rev. Dan Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Hazel Kinkennon of Water Valley, MS; one daughter, Linda K. Jenkins and husband Mickey of Tupelo, MS; brother, Clifford Kinkennon of Tupelo, MS; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Crew of Tupelo, Ms and Trey Huey and wife Allison of Tupelo, MS; 2 great-grandchildren, Max Crew and Ella Huey.
Mr. Kinkennon was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Vina Leona Smith Kinkennon and two brothers, John and Amos Kinkennon.
