Obituary

Richard “Dick” McAlister True, 79 of E. Derry, NH died August 6, 2007 in the Salemhaven Nursing Home, Salem, NH. Dick was born in Boston, MA on August 27, 1927 the son of the late Eugene and Esther (Hunt) True. He had resided in E. Derry for most of his life. He was a Pinkerton Academy Alumni Class of 1946 and was a member of the Pinkerton Alumni Association. Dick served with the US Navy during WWII. He owned and operated True & Noyes Lumber Co. in E. Derry for many years. In addition to serving as a Mason, he was a former member the Kiwanis Club of Derry and had held memberships in numerous business and civic organizations. Dick was a current member of the Family Motor Coach Association.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Shea) True of E. Derry, two sons, Gregg True and his wife Pati of Alton, NH, Gene True of Missoula, MN, two daughters, Terry Hussey and her husband Neil of Alton, Tracy True Allen and her husband David of Henniker, NH, one stepson, Frank Donovan and his wife Brenda of Dover, NH, one stepdaughter, Ellen McCann and her husband Chris of Salem, NH, 11 grandchildren, his sister, Janice Dearth of E. Derry, also many close friends.
Calling hours were Tuesday August 7, 2007 from 5 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 10:30am in the funeral home. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to E. Hampstead Union Church, P.O. Box 109, E. Hampstead, NH 03826 or to Salemhaven Special Care Unit, 2nd Floor, 23 Geremonty Dr., Salem, NH 03079.
