OBITUARY AND PICTURE FOR MR. ROGER AZIZ


Roger Aziz died on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at his home in Methuen. He was 94.
He was born in Methuen in 1913, the son of Aziz Aziz and Nasha Yarad.
A graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1932, Roger joined the U.S. Army in 1942 where he served in the European Theater. After his discharge in 1945, he worked as a Butcher in the family store on Hampshire St. in Lawrence and then became an Electrician. He had worked for several area Electrical companies prior to his retirement. He was a fifty year member of I.B.E.W. Local 522 at the time of his death.
In 1951, he married Bertha (Winters) (Auger) Aziz who survives him. They celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary in 2006.
Roger was predeceased by his brothers Frederick, Joseph, Oscar, John, and Abe. He is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Elder of Delaware.
He was also predeceased by a step-daughter, June A. Nolin.
Along with his wife, he is survived by a stepson, Raymond Auger and his wife Peggy of Lawrence.

Mary (Auger) Elkhoury and her husband Joseph of Salem, NH., Matthew Auger and his wife Lisa of Atkinson, NH, Marc Auger of Haverhill, MA., and Michael Auger of Missouri.
Roger is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Kelsey White, George and Christina Elkhoury and Matthew, Jr., Dante, and Ryan Auger.
He also leaves behind several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A voracious reader, a good card player, an avid fisherman, and a die-hard Red Sox fan, Roger was also a great story teller who repeated them often and never forgot any of the details.
The family would like to thank Merrimack Valley Hospice for their care and support in their difficult times.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Joseph's Melkite Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Cemetery, also in Lawrence.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, August 5, 2007 from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA.
