Obituary


ROBERT P. KLIX, 74, of Scituate, died on Octobert 25th, 2006 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.

Mr. Klix, a Navy veteran who served as a pilot stationed in Pensacola, FL, and Guam during the 1950's, was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. An active member of the Roman Catholic Church, Mr. Klix attended Catholic schools through high school and then earned a degree in English Literature from St. Michael's College in Toronto, Ontario.

A lifelong salesman, Mr. Klix began his career with the Chrysler Corporation, serving the upstate New York region. He moved to Scituate during the 1970's, where he turned his focus to machinery, first working with Rockwell Power Tools and then later with Delta Machinery. During his tenure with Delta, Mr. Klix earned several regional managerial awards before retiring in 1996.

Mr. Klix was a voracioius reader, with myriad interests ranging from the classics to contemporary mysteries. He had a keen interest in the etymology of the English language, and was known to many as a succinct yet eloquent orator. His other interests included woodworking, leather tooling, fine watch and knife collecting, photography, and landscaping. Not one to lay idle after retiring, Mr. Klix used his knowledge of precision mechanics when he took up a position in the watch department at Cohasset Jewelers.

A loving husband of nearly 50 years to Nancy A. (Heffernan) Klix, he is also survived by his children, Roberta Klix of Arlington, James Klix of Scituate, Susanna Kilcoyne of San Diego, CA, Heidi Klix of Scituate and Wendy Klix of Chelmsford; and by his grandchildren, Shane, Liam, Patrick, Cailene, Justin, Jack and Kate.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Saturday, Aug. 11th at St. Mary's of the Nativity, One Kent St., Scituate. The interment was private.
