Elisabeth T. (Serrilla) Houde, 90 years died Tuesday at the Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. Born in South Boston, daughter of the late Frank and Charlotte (Augherton) Serrilla, she was educated in Lexington Public Schools and was a 1938 graduate of New England School of Art in Boston and she had been a resident of Brockton for the past 60 years. She had been employed by the former Grover Cronin Department Store in Waltham in the art department and Sanderson Brothers Printing Company in N. Abington, also in the Art Department retiring in 1960. She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting with water colors and drawing with chalks. She also enjoyed her flower gardens and pets.
She was a longtime member of the Chapel of Our Savior Prayer Group, a former communicant of St. Margaret Church where she was a member of the choir, a former member of Irelands Own choir, Fuller Museum of Art, the Brockton Art Association and Port Clyde Art Association in Port Clyde, Maine. She exhibited her art locally and in New England and received various awards for her drawings.
Elisabeth is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late Gerald A. Houde and sister of the late Rita Jordan, Charlotte Grahn and Frank Serrilla.
