Obituary

NEW BEDFORD — Frances Mae Takach, of New Bedford, died Monday, July 30, 2007, at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility.

Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island, she lived in New Bedford since 1933 and was a communicant of various churches in the New Bedford area, including St. Julie Billiart Church in Dartmouth.

Her first marriage was to the late Vincent J. Takach who was a very well known musician in the New Bedford area and played with the Ronnie Vince Orchestra.

She was employed by Rodney Metals Corporation (Teledyne) until retirement. In 1976, she married Edward J. Anuszczyk who predeceased her in death.

Mae Takach was active with the Catholic Guild in New Bedford, Jolly Seniors Club in Acushnet, Kiwanis, Lions and Semi Blind Clubs, Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St. Casmire's Senior Club and was also a pink lady at St. Luke's Hospital.

She is survived by her son, Ronald V. Takach and his wife, Pauline of Hauppauge, N.Y.; her brother, Edward J. Pietrzyk of Pawtucket, R.I.; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two nephews, and two nieces.

Visitation will take place on Thursday morning, august 2, 2007, from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M., in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 A.M. in St. Julie Billiart Church in Dartmouth and burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Bedford.
