Michael J. O’Malley Sr. of Weymouth formerly of Hyde Park died July 28, 2007. He was 73.
Mr. O’Malley was born in Lewisburg, County Mayo, Ireland and was the son of the late Peter and Nora (Hester) O’Malley. He worked as a painter and had lived in Weymouth for the past 5 years. Prior to that, he was a longtime resident of Hyde Park.
He was the devoted father of Mary T. Cahill and her husband John of Braintree, Martin J. O’Malley and his wife Diane of Dedham, Michael J. O’Malley and his wife Kelly of Norwood, Peter J. O’Malley of Braintree and the late Thomas P. O’Malley and his wife Patricia of West Roxbury and the late Noreen A. O’Malley. Brother of Kay Daly of Weymouth, Nora Brady of Dedham, Bridget Gallagher of Weymouth, Helen Skehill of Roslindale, James O’Malley of West Roxbury, Patrick O’Malley of Gardner and the late Peter O’Malley of England. Also survived by 11 grandchildren.
His funeral will be held from the P.E Murray – George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St., West Roxbury, on Thursday at 9:00 AM with a funeral mass in St. Theresa’s Church, West Roxbury, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
