George Ziakas, 79, of Bedford, died July 30, 2007, at his home, after a brief illness. He was born August 17, 1927, in Manchester, and was the son of John and Maria Ziakas.
For many years he owned and operated the Chevron service station on Brown Ave. He was a small plane pilot, and had been flying his plane for several years. George enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, Spanish music was his favorite.
Family members include his wife of 57 years, Medora R. Ziakas, of Bedford; 5 daughters, Linda M. Tolios, of Weare, Maria A. Vanasse, of Deerfield, Koren J. Maccubbin, of Dunbarton, Gina Mailhot, of FL, Kim A. Prokopik, of Auburn, Nadine C. Ponzoni, of Manchester; a son George G. Ziakas, of Manchester; 4 sisters, Vasileke Marquis, of Manchester, Stella Jackson, of Londonderry, Niki Mouratidis, of FL, Pauline Eklund, of FL; 2 brothers, James Ziakas, of Hooksett, Louis Ziakas, of FL; several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A Memorial reception took place Friday August 3, 2007 at the Family Maple Lodge, Dunbarton, NH.
