Obituary

WORCESTER___Paul E. Voyer, 90, of Cohasset Street, died Sunday July 29, 2007 in St. Mary Health Care Center.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Gertrude G. (Lapointe) Voyer, two sons, John J. Voyer and his wife Joan of Portland, Me., and Richard H. Voyer and his wife Janet of Plymouth; four grandchildren, Carly, Andrew, Andrea and Michael, two sisters, Anne Marie Gosselin and Albertine Gosselin both of Rimouski, P.Q. Canada and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Antonio Voyer. He was born and raised in Bic, P.Q. Canada, a son of Joseph and Antonia (Lagace) Voyer and has lived in Worcester since 1938.

Mr. Voyer worked 42 years in pipe fabrication for Charles Manoog, Inc., and was a foreman there before retiring in 1991. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and was a volunteer and past co – chair for the Bishops Fund. Paul was active in the effort to Save St. Joseph Church in the early 1990’s. He was educated in Canada.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday August 1 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton Street. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday July 31 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church Renovation Fund, 5 Whitman Road, Worcester, Ma., 01609 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, Ma., 02472.
