Obituary


Lena (Molignano) Trotta, a long-time Medford resident, died at her home, Friday, after a brief illness. She was 94.

Born in Boston, Lena lived in Medford for most of her life. A dedicated wife and mother, Lena enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She also worked for 25 years as a stitcher at BF Goodrich. She was a devout Red Sox fan and a fan of the Patriots also.

She was the beloved wife of the late Christopher C. Trotta who died in 1978. She was a devoted mother to Christopher R. and his wife Deanna of Billerica, Robert and his companion Deborah Grandison of Medford, Richard and his wife Leslie of Andover and the late Marie Butt. She was a loving grandmother to Debbie, Christopher, Renee, Danielle, Ricky, Adam, and Rachel, a loving great grandmother to Shannon, Stewart, Alison, Nicole, Taylor and a loving great-great-grandmother to Ian. She was a dear sister to Margaret Tracey of Baltimore and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family Monday 4 - 9. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made of Lena’s name to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Division of Development, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445-9924 or to Hospice Care Inc., 100 Sylvan Road, Woburn, MA 01801.
