Charlene Evans, LPN, 56, of Franklin, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday morning, July 27, 2007. She was the wife of the late Kenneth D. Evans who died in 1983.
She was born in Mansfield, Ohio, September 29, 1950, the daughter of the late Edward Arnold Dresen, and was raised and educated in North Attleboro by her mother Dorothy (Brown) Thompson of Franklin and her adopted father the late Herbert O. Thompson.
Mrs. Evans was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse who worked for many area nursing homes and local families. She was a graduate of Mass. Bay Community College, where she obtained her nursing degree.
She was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, where she participated in the Healing Team, and Alpha Course. She was also an avid Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, and New England Patriots fan.
Survivors in addition to her mother include her 3 daughters: Kendra M. Evans of Franklin, Jennifer M. Larson and Angela L. Lawrence of Charlton, MA, 3 brothers: Michael S. Thompson of North Attleboro, Walter K. Thompson of Norton, Gregory O. Thompson of Foxboro, 4 sister: Theresa D. Coomes of Sunnyvale, Calif., Kim P. Marcus of Pawtucket, RI, Nancy L. Marzilli of Scottsdale, Arizona and Kellie J. Albert of Bellingham, her mother-in-law Frances A. Williams of Jackson, Mississippi, and 4 grandchildren: Dakota, Sean Jr., Harlee and Jace.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Tuesday, July 31, at 11:00 AM at St. John ‘s Episcopal Church 237 Pleasant Street, Franklin, Rev. John Potter, Rector will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, 565 Mt. Hope Street, North Attleboro.
