Obituary

WORCESTER___Jerome P. Kolodziejczak, 83, of Worcester, died Friday July 27 in Radius Health Care, 29 Main Street, Millbury.

He was born in Palmer in 1924 a son of Andrew and Rose (Rutkowski) Kolodziejczak and late lived in Auburn before coming to Worcester. He leaves two sons, Jay Kolodziejczak and his wife Donna of Boylston; and Martin Kolodziejczak and his wife Michele of Sutton; a daughter, Justine Shafnacker and her husband Michael of Clinton, Ct., three grandchildren Jordan, Olivia and Elena, a sister, Theresa Gmyrek of Auburn; his former wife, Wanda (Gurski) Kolodziejczak of Auburn; his sisters-in-law, Phyllis Gurski of Worcester and Loretta Caruso of Haverhill. He was predeceased by two sisters, Joan Puchala and Lucy Kolodziejczak.

Mr. Kolodziejczak founded Endicott Oil Service in 1947 and operated it until retiring in 1995. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed fishing and golfing, playing in the Wachusett Country Club four ball golf championships for 35 years. He was a catcher and played with his team in the 1949 New England fast pitch Softball Championship finals. He also coached basketball and baseball for St. Mary’s High School.

He was a loving father and a kind and helpful friend to many. He will be dearly missed. At his request no services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society, Massachusetts Chapter, 495 Old Connecticut Path Suite 220, Framingham, Ma., 01701.
