Willa Ree Morehead Tucker, 88, of the Lands Crossing Community in Irwin County, died Friday, July 27, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, July 29, at Eureka Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin County, with Elder Jamey Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Eureka Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tucker was born October 12, 1918, in Gilmer County to the late Jasper M. and Mary Lavada Holden Morehead. She lived in the community most of her life. Mrs. Tucker was a former employee of Fitzgerald Underwear, Harvey’s Supermarket and she sat with the elderly. She was a member of Eureka Primitive Baptist Church and a former member of the Home Demonstration Club.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, G.M. & Linda Tucker and Fred & Ann Tucker all of the Lands Crossing Community in Irwin County; 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; sister & brother-in-law, Gladys & Paul Dunn of Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her husband, G.B. Tucker, son, Herman Tucker, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
