Samuel M. Tedesco, of Pompano Beach FL, formerly of Medford and Stoneham, died Thursday at his Florida home. He was 80.
Mr. Tedesco was born in Boston and raised in the North End. He was the son of the late Samuel and the late Rose (Di Lorenzo) Tedesco.
A well known florist in the Boston and Broward County areas, Sam continued to work at his craft even in his retirement.
For thirty years Sam owned and operated Flowers by Tedesco in Malden. After moving to Florida with his family he operated Sunrise Florist in Sunrise Florida. In Florida Mr. Tedesco’s reputation as a teacher of “high design” won him respect among his peers and awards from professional associations. He served as President of the Broward County Florist Association.Even through his retirement Sam was sought out to do arrangements for special functions and occasions.
He is survived by his wife Mildred R. (Salerno) Tedesco, a son Samuel P. and his wife Diane and a daughter Rose Marie Tedesco all of Pompano Beach.
Friends and relatives may visit Monday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
His funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10AM in St. Clement Church, Medford.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
